![]() ![]() If you want a reliable semiauto, get a 10/22. 22LR primarily for accuracy, get a good bolt action or a target Ruger 10/22. Reliability is unquestionable and more than one has resided as a Get Home/BOB gun over the years. All are accurate enough for each intended use. I own many Ruger 10/22’s now in a wide variety of configurations. It was very finicky about which ammo cycled. I wore it out prior to grwaduating from high school. I wouldn’t buy another Model 60 even though it was my first firearm. So which do I recommend? Hands down the Ruger! This allows one to make them accurate and/or fun! One can change just about every part for a suped up aftermarket component. However, they are extremely reliable! Also, they are like a LEGO kit of the gun world. Ruger 10/22s are not known for accuracy right out of the box. My first firearm was a Model 60 new at Christmas 1982! I shot the daylights out of that rifle! Accurate, beyond belief! The accuracy of Marlin Microgrooved rimfires is well known! I have four other Marlin/NEF Microgroove rimfire rifles (bolt and break actions) and all are very accurate!
